I am a qualified teacher with a degree in Biological Sciences, a PGCE in Science with Biology and over 10 years classroom experience in the UK.
I have worked in various school types and systems, including highly academic and selective settings.
I believe that great teaching creates the conditions for learning rather than simply delivering information. I see my role as designing and facilitating learning experiences through the use of tried and tested methods that help students develop understanding, build confidence and improve outcomes.
Equally important to me is helping students understand how they learn. I help students develop effective study strategies so that they can become independent learners who are able to study with greater confidence and efficiency. I believe that effective tutoring equips students with the knowledge, skills and learning habits that support their success long after the session has ended.
